It looks like Nokia fans on T-Mobile will have more choice than the Nuron and some low-end candybar phones next month. A tipster has sent a screenshot to TmoNews that shows off the new Nokia E73, named the “Mode” for T-Mobile, that shows a photo of the device and says it will be arriving on June 16. The E73 Mode will support 3G and Wi-Fi as well as Wi-Fi calling and it looks like it has a similar physical QWERTY keyboard and optical d-pad as the E72. Other information, like pricing, is unknown at this time but we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

Rogers has just launched its first Android smartphone from Motorola, the Motorola Quench (already available at T-Mobile USA as Motorola Cliq XT).

The Quench is Motorola’s only MotoBlur handset to come without a hardware QWERTY keyboard. Unfortunately, it runs Android 1.5 , however, it will probably be updated to Android 2.1 soon.

The handset features a 3.1 HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, digital compass, 3.5mm headset jack, 5MP autofocus camera, 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM and MicroSD card support. All in all, a well-equipped device.

You can buy Rogers’s Motorola Quench online for $49.99 with a 3-yr contract agreement, or for $424.99 free of contract. This hands-on video preview of the Motorola Quench might help you decide whether the phone is for you or not.

Although Virgin Mobile was the first to announce it’s bringing the HTC Wildfire to the UK, it looks like the first UK carrier to actually launch the smartphone will be T-Mobile.

The Wildfire is now featured on T-Mobile UK’s website, in the coming soon section, and the carrier says on Twitter that customers will be able to buy the handset starting June 14. Last time I checked, June was in the second quarter of the year, so this might be a mistake, since HTC officially said the Wildfire (which runs Android 2.1) would only be out in the third quarter.

T-Mobile UK didn’t disclose the price of the HTC Wildfire, but “free on select plans” sounds like a safe guess.

It seems that the Samsung i5500 could very well be the first Corby handset from the South Korean manufacturer that runs on the Android 2.1 operating system. Basically, we’ve more or less lost track of the number of Corby handsets that there are out there, but so far none of them sport the Android platform. The Samsung GT-i5500 which was recently approved by the Wi-Fi alliance, will reportedly come with GPS support, 3G and Bluetooth connectivity, a built-in touchscreen display, and a photo camera. It has already been approved by the FCC,

but there aren’t any proper photos released just yet so we’ll just have to make do with a sketch of the handset’s case. Do look forward to an official announcement in the coming weeks.

Officially announced in South Korea last month, the LG LU2300 will be commercialized as LG Optimus Q and it should be available starting the end of May, via LG Telecom (South Korea’s third largest mobile carrier).

The LU2300 is LG’s second Android handset to be named Optimus, after the GT540, and it looks like there will be a whole series of Optimus phones, most probably all running Android.

Unlike the Optimus GT540 (which is a mid-end phone), the Optimus Q LU2300 is a high-end device with Android 2.1, full QWERTY keyboard, WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, 5MP camera, and 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

The LG LU2300 Optimus Q will only be available in South Korea. However, a heavily modified version of it – the LG Ally – should be out in the US via Verizon starting May 20.

HTC has officially announced the HTC Wildfire, a new Android 2.1 smartphone that resembles the already-available HTC Desire, although it’s smaller and comes with not so advanced features. As you may recall, the hew handset’s name was chosen by HTC fans via Facebook

With the Wildfire, HTC plans to make the HTC Sense experience available to young mobile users for the first time. The smartphone will be available in several color versions (including black, white and red), featuring a 3.2 inch QVGA touchscreen display, HSDPA, GPS, Wi-Fi, Friend Stream application (for access to Facebook, Twitter and Flickr), 3.5mm headset jack, 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash, 528MHz Qualcomm processor, and MicroSD card support.

The Wildfire also comes with a new app sharing widget, which lets users recommend Android applications by text message, email, or over social networks.

HTC Wildfire will be available in Europe and Asia starting the third quarter of the year. Its price was not announced, but if HTC wants the smartphone to be successful among young users, it should make it cheaper than, say, the HTC Legend.

As expected, the official-looking Windows Phone 7 OS ROM leaked over the weekend is already yielding results. Pictured above is an image extracted from the “oemavatar.cab.” Now that could be a generic Windows Phone 7 image or it could be the HTC Mondrian already seen referenced by the 100MB file. The kids at XDA-Developers have also pieced together specs from an ongoing analysis of the registry and RGU files.

So far they’ve spotted references to a 4.3-inch WVGA (480×800) display from Optrex and a 1.3GHz QSD8650A/B Snapdragon from Qualcomm — a chipset, you might recall, supporting multi-mode UMTS and CDMA 3G connectivity. It’s also packing a digital compass but seems to lack a keyboard. Mind you, none of this is absolute but it’s very very intriguing.
